Hydro-seed is a great choice when covering a large area and you’re not looking for the instant effect of sod. 

It is a mixture of paper mulch, grass seed, water and sometimes a fertilizer and a Tackifier are also in the mix. 

Because the mix is sprayed directly onto the grade of the lawn, there is a chance rain may erode some of it off of slopes. 

For this reason, hydro-seed is not warranted against erosion.  If we install hydro-seed to a somewhat flat area and patches don’t fill in within 1 year, it can be warranted.

Sod is the perfect choice for that instant effect your looking for and can offer erosion control where other options can not.

However, sod needs a substantial amount of water when installed in the “HOT/DRY” season that only an irrigation system can provide.  For this reason, if sod we install is not correctly watered with an irrigation system there will be no warranty. 

If we install sod to a lawn with a fully operational irrigation system, it is warranted for 1 year after installation
